Sr. Business Analyst

Duration: contract for hire

Location:  northern suburbs of Minneapolis MN

Rate = best all inclusive rate

Must be green card or above.

 

This is a $100k+ salary position, where they would ideally like to find someone with "big-5" consulting experience.

Lots of external customer contact, so need to be polished, with great verbal and written communication skills. They would look at candidates from out of town.

 

Job description:

Business Analysts are responsible for understanding customer and business needs in order to define and document the right requirements. • Elicit, gather, analyze, organize and document functional and non-functional requirements for projects throughout their life cycle • Create and maintain requirements and process artifacts • Work with business users to gather requirements and translate them clearly to the developers/technical team • Communicate project status to business users, and peers so that issues and solutions are understood • Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient ways to achieve the project objectives and improve business process • Assist quality assurance in the development of test plans and test cases • Supports testing the solution to verify it meets the requirements committed to and helps execute a successful and on time roll-out • Conduct requirements reviews • Communicate developer questions and concerns to business users and management and vice-versa • Establish credibility with business partners and influence tough business decisions with senior management • Keep your skills and product knowledge sharp • Coordinate multiple priorities and demonstrate initiative in starting and completing projects • Develop an understanding of the business area and the stakeholders.

Bachelors degree with 10+ years of business analyst experience. •Excellent communication skills - Ability to communicate technical concepts, solution design ideas, issues, and best practices to technical and business audiences *Outside consulting company experience working onsite with clients. •Strong project management skills required *Superior attention to detail with highly effective organizational and analytical skills •Requirements elicitation skills - recognition of vague, weak, and ambiguous requirements. Able to identify and close gaps and inconsistencies with clarity and detail •Demonstrated ability to create Use Cases and/or User Stories that document requirements for business functionality. •Ability to articulate requirements to various audiences including software engineers, management and clients. •Excellent PC skills including Windows and Microsoft Office products. • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with changing priorities. Dedicated to creating high quality requirements. *High level of travel for first 4 to 8 weeks then taper off ongoing. Preferred: *Retail and Marketing experience
